About Wood Run Farm

How We Got Started

We started Wood Run Farm in 1998. We were looking for a place that was convenient to south Denver, quiet, with lots of turnout and great facilities. Equally important, we wanted  a barn where we could enjoy ourselves, with nice  people and happy horses. The place had to be clean and the care had to be the best.

Wood Run has been in business for more than a decade. The facilities are comfortable, the people (including the boarders) are friendly and the care is always first rate. Everything feels like home. Wood Run Farm is owned and operated by Wood Run Properties, LLC, which is owned by the Tredennick family: Page, John, Sarah and Scott Tredennick. Here is more about each of us.

Page TredennickPage Tredennick

Page is an MBA mom who has been riding and showing since her early teens back in Cincinnati. She has shown successfully in both hunters and jumpers from California to Madison Square Garden, and from Michigan to Palm Beach.

In her other life she is a Cordon Bleau chef who spent 15 years running a successful restaurant and catering business in Cincinnati. Looking for a change, she came back to Colorado (where she had attended Colorado College) and taught skiing for a year in Aspen. She then took her MBA at Denver University in marketing.

Page made one mistake, a blind date with some lawyer a friend recommended. That led to a quick engagement, a June wedding, two kids and an MBA mom. When things settled down, she founded Wood Run and a professional cooking school called Cook Street. Like Wood Run, it is the best in the business.

When she is not riding or skiing or cooking, Page can be found knitting or working a Sudoku puzzle. Go figure.

Page TredennickJohn Tredennick

John didn't know anything about horses until he met Page almost 20 years ago on a blind date. Had he even a clue about how fanatical these horse people are, he might have run for the hills. Instead, encouraged by a  horse who acted lame any time we tried to sell him, he took a riding lesson or two. "What the heck," he thought. I can't be any worse at this  than golf.

Actually, he was a bit better. After beating his way (against ponies no less) through the novice divisions, John started competing for real. Like most trial lawyers who don't like to lose, he gunned the throttle and started winning in the jumpers. And sometimes crashing. Over the years, he has been Zone Champion for his 5-state region and Colorado champion in the Adult Jumpers.

In his other life, John practiced law as a litigation partner at Holland & Hart for more than 20 years. In 2000, just as the dot com economy was crashing, he founded an Internet company called Catalyst Repository Systems. Probably because he knew nothing of the business world, it took off and has become a leader in providing e-discovery document repositories for complex litigation and regulatory investigations.  You never know.

Sarah TredennickSarah Tredennick

Sarah is finishing college at the University of Denver and probably would stop speaking to us if we told you anything important about her. So we'll make it up.

Sarah has been riding since she was three and has worked her way through lead line to small, medium and large ponies. Same for children's hunters and jumpers. She has participated and medaled in most of the national finals including Devon, Washington and the Maclay finals.

These days Sarah competes nationally on the Grand Prix circuit. She recently  won the Nashville Grand Prix for the second year in a row and looks forward to competing against the world's best in in Wellington. this Winter

Scott TredennickScott Tredennick

Scott is in a freshman at Rollins College in Orlando Florida. For many years, he had limited interest in riding, preferring, instead, to ride his snowboard in the winter and golf, bike or play paint ball in the summer.

A few years ago, Scott decided to try his hand at riding too. He found he has a pretty good eye for the jumps. After starting in the hunter and equitation divisions, Scott graduated to  the jumpers, moving quickly from the Childrens to the Junior Jumpers. He recently participated on the junior team for Zone 8 at the North American Young Riders championships. Last summer he started riding in his first Grand Prix events. He will be competing actively in the Junior Jumper division at Wellington this winter and also in the Junior Equitation division.

Scott  has become expert at cross-fit training and has started running as well. He long ago left his dad in the dust with his riding  but occasionally will take a lesson with him..

"At Wood Run Farm, our goal is to make you feel a part of our family. We will work hard to make your experience the best it can be, whether you are just learning to ride or tuning up for an "A" rated show.

Come visit to see if Wood Run Farm is right for you. We look forward to seeing you there."
